privacy policy

last updated may 4, 2026

this privacy policy explains what information unchartable collects, stores, and uses when visitors sign in with discord, upload charts, browse community content, comment, rate charts, download files, or submit feedback.

information we collect

when you sign in with discord, unchartable stores the minimum profile information needed to operate your account: discord user ID, discord username, display name, avatar URL when provided by discord, and authentication session data handled by supabase.

when you upload or edit a chart, unchartable stores the information required to review, manage, and publish that submission, including song title, artist, charter name, difficulty data, description, permission proof provided for moderation, upload status, file paths, cover image path, preview status, moderation notes, and the account that submitted it.

when you interact with charts, unchartable may store likes, ratings, comments, replies, view records, and download counters so chart pages, profiles, and moderation tools can function correctly.

when you submit feedback or a bug report, unchartable stores the report type, message, optional contact field, page URL, optional screenshot path, and your account ID if you are signed in.

information we do not collect

unchartable does not intentionally collect advertising identifiers, browser fingerprints, precise location data, or marketing analytics profiles.

unchartable does not sell personal data and does not use account information for advertising.

unchartable does not ask for or store passwords. login is handled through discord oauth and supabase authentication.

how information is used

discord account information is used to create and maintain profiles, keep users signed in, display public submitter information, associate comments and ratings with accounts, and protect account-only or admin-only areas.

chart information is used to review submissions, show approved community charts, allow submitters to manage their uploads, provide downloads and previews, and support community features such as comments, likes, ratings, and ranked links.

feedback reports are used to investigate issues, review requested improvements, and contact the reporter only when a contact method is voluntarily provided.

public information

approved charts are visible in the public chart feed and on public chart pages. these pages may show song title, artist, charter name, difficulty data, description, cover art, preview, download options, likes, views, ratings, comments, and the submitter display name or discord username.

pending and rejected charts are visible to the submitter and site administrators. rejection reasons and attached rejection images may be shown to the submitter so the submission can be corrected.

comments and ratings on approved charts may be visible to other visitors.

service providers

unchartable relies on third-party service providers to operate the site, including hosting providers for the web application, supabase for authentication and database features, cloudflare R2 for file storage, and discord for login.

these providers may process information only as necessary to provide authentication, hosting, storage, database, security, and delivery of site features.

cookies and local storage

authentication may use cookies or browser storage to keep users signed in between visits.

theme settings and interface preferences may be stored locally in the browser. clearing browser data may sign the user out or reset preferences.

data retention and removal

account and chart information is retained while the account or related submissions remain active.

feedback reports are retained while they are useful for resolving issues or improving the site, and administrators may delete them from the admin panel.

users may request removal or correction of account-related information. limited moderation or abuse-prevention records may be retained when necessary to preserve site integrity or respond to disputes.

security

unchartable uses server-side checks, admin restrictions, storage validation, and database access controls where appropriate.

no online service can guarantee complete security. users should only upload content they have permission to share and should access the site from a trusted browser and device.

contact, rights, and removal requests

for privacy questions, data removal requests, corrections, or copyright removal requests, contact decry on discord at ddecry or use the email address below.

copyright owners or authorized representatives should include enough detail to identify the content, such as the chart URL or title, the copyrighted work involved, the relationship to the rights holder, and a contact method for follow-up.
